Before there is a beginning, one must begin. Thus…I begin.
This is it. I have conformed. I have submitted myself to the trend and publicly published my brain online. Here it is. Doesn’t seem like it lives up to its title, does it? Well, give it time. I have only been birthed into the virtual diary swim-hole and thus must be given the proper “sink or swim” time.
To clarify, or explain, depending on how much you’ve thought about it or how far that’s gotten you; the name you see at the top of this page is not just one of rhyme. It is also one of meaning. I thought long and hard about the title of this “splurge” I knew that if I wanted a professional face, I needed a professional name. I also knew that this being a “splurge” it would have to resemble something of my personality. So I combined my two favorite things (words and rhymes), and “Savant Prizant” was born.
The following will be an explanation of the name (for those who haven’t already figured out its meaning). If you accept / understand / could care less about my reasoning, then by all mean, consider the previous paragraph to be the ending one and enjoy!
“Savant,” by definition, is a person of profound or extensive learning; learned scholar. “Prizant,” by definition, is my family. Origin explained. Okay, in all seriousness, I am a big fan of wordplay (though fail miserably at riddles). I’ve written, read, and typed with, and about…words. Thus, it is only natural for me, when choosing a professional form of expression, to do it with words.
I had a difficult time deciding on a name for my splurge. I wanted intelligence to show through in the title, but at the same time have it mean something. I wanted something that was funky, but intriguing enough to spark curiosity. My other choice, and a name I’ve used for many other projects, was “Rens Den.” Short, sweet, and easy to remember. But would it peek the interest of writers? I don’t know. Would it be too simple or paint the wrong mental picture? I guess we will never know. “Savant Prizant,” however, I feel speak on many levels to my aspirations and myself, my goals as a human, and more specifically as a woman, and even more specifically, as an aspiring copywriter. So welcome, one and all, to what I hope will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
